Objectives

Our objective is to assist airports and municipalities in achieving their green goal and sustainability initiatives.

Participating agencies will collect vinyl banner waste for shipment to our facility.  Once at our facility the vinyl will be cleaned and used to produce products to be sold in retail stores, and as promotional items at city events and venues.  This unique and beautiful product line includes luggage tags, lanyards, ID Badge holders, wallets, portfolios, messenger bags, tote bags, handbags, and more.  A hang tag can be attached to each item with the participating agency’s name and logo. The tag will also outline the steps that were taken to produce the product, that the used vinyl was diverted from landfill, and Made in U.S.A.  It is possible to silk screen a logo and motto on some of the larger products.  A portion from the proceeds of each item sold may be donated to programs as designated by the agency.  Yet another way to turn “waste into gain.”

Our goal is to replace the commonly used P.E.T. (Polyethylene terephthalate) plastic water bottles made from crude oil, with bottles made from P.L.A. (Polylactic acid).  PLA is a corn-based bio-plastic which is completely biodegradable and can be composted in a commercial facility, unlike oil based P.E.T. plastic bottles.

We will help each agency establish End of Life Procedures to ensure that the bottles will either be composted on site, sent to a composting facility, or sent back to the manufacturer.  A rebate program is available for the last option.  Replacing all P.E.T. bottles with P.L.A. could equal a savings of one billion gallons of gas per year, and would help to ensure a cleaner environment.

A Disposal-Recycle Points Program can be employed.  When the consumer is ready to dispose of the bottle, a point will be accrued in the form of a ticket created from the bar code on the bottle.  These points could be redeemed for city run venues such as museums and events.
